App Description
The OTC product will support the home user market for running test at home. The Accula dock will be used to process the Accula Cassettes and then a phone app will interpret the lateral flow assay to determine the test results. The results will be sent to MesaConnect, which in turn can redirect the results to recording agencies. For example, pharmacies, government agencies, travel authorities or labs. Initially, we will launch with COVID, but it is expected that we will support a growing list of assays.

UX Case Study
Mesa Connect is a mobile health application designed to simplify the process of scanning and interpreting rapid diagnostic tests while enabling users to manage and share their health status digitally.
I approached this project from scratch, beginning with a competitive analysis of existing health and test-scanning apps to identify gaps in usability, clarity, and trust. Many solutions lacked guided instructions, had confusing result interpretations, or did not provide a seamless way to store and share results.
Based on these insights, I designed a guided, user-centric experience that walks users through test scanning step-by-step, minimizes errors, and presents results in a clear, trustworthy format. The app also introduces a digital health pass, allowing users to securely manage and share their test outcomes.
The final solution focuses on clarity, accuracy, and ease of use, transforming a stressful and error-prone process into a simple, reliable experience.
Pain Points and Objective
It should be clean, minimal and more visible. Covid test app for Home user including family members. Need separate credentials for each family members. Health pass QR Code sharing feature.
Research and User Involvement
PO shared initial rough mockup. But it was totally different approach in the concept and workflow. As per the regular interviews we finalised with new workflow.
Designing the Solution
I faced very limited time to make it ready. Proposed couple of design workflow and finalised one from that.
Research & Insights
I conducted a competitive analysis of existing health and test-scanning apps to understand usability gaps. Most apps lacked guided instructions, had unclear result displays, and offered fragmented user experiences.
Key Insight: Users need a guided, simple, and trustworthy flow with clear result interpretation and real-time feedback to feel confident while performing and validating tests.

The Breakthrough
The key breakthrough was shifting from a basic scanning tool to a guided end-to-end experience—leading users step-by-step through the process, from instructions to scanning to clear result interpretation, while building trust through real-time feedback and simplicity.
